How to download Amazon Prime Video movies for offline viewing

 Amazon Prime Video is a popular streaming service that allows you to download TV episodes and movies for offline streaming. Amazon users have access to an incredible selection of movies, TV series, and numerous Amazon exclusives, including award-winning documentaries.  All you have to do is download the titles you want to watch and watch them whenever and wherever you want. You can watch Amazon Prime Video on a tablet, your TV, a smartphone, or a browser.

Although downloading content and media from Amazon Prime is extremely handy, this streaming service does have some drawbacks. However, it is still a user-friendly streaming service for binge-watching TV series, and we will show you how to download, view, and manage your downloaded offline videos on the Amazon Prime Videos app in this article.

HOW TO DOWNLOAD OFFLINE CONTENT ON AMAZON PRIME VIDEO

 Windows 10:

  • First, download the Amazon Prime Video App.
  • Proceed by opening the Amazon Prime Video app.
  • Sign in to your Amazon Prime Video subscription.
  • Now, choose which titles you want to view online.
  • Select the show or movie that you wish to save.
  • Click the Download button if it is available for download. 
  • Choose a location for the file to be saved.
  • Make sure you have ample storage space.
  • Configure the Video Quality.
  • Select the Start Download option.

Mobile Phone:

  • Launch the Amazon Prime Video app on your Android or Apple iPhone.
  • Look for the show or movie that you wish to download.
  • To download a whole season, tap the 'Download Season and enter the season number. 
  • Now, scroll down and download select episodes of the series by clicking on the tray icon with the arrow next to each episode.
  • You can specify whether or not you want Prime Video to inform you when the download is complete.
  • To access your downloads, go to the bottom of the screen and tap on Downloads.

HOW TO ACCESS OFFLINE DOWNLOADS ON THE AMAZON PRIME VIDEO APP

  • If you wish to check the status of your saved shows and movies,
  • navigate to the My Stuff page.
  • Select the title you wish to view offline by clicking on it.
  • Select the Watch Now option.

If you run out of storage space, you can delete some of the items in your Prime Video downloads folder to make place for new titles:

  • Choose the title you want to remove.
  • Select the three-dot icon.
  • Choose Delete Download.

HOW TO MANAGE STORAGE ON YOUR DOWNLOADED VIDEOS

  • Using the settings menu, you can select download quality options for both the Windows 10 app and the mobile phone app.
  • Go to the settings
  • Select Streaming & Downloading.
  • And choose the Download Quality.

Download quality options:

  • Best: 1 hour of video uses about 1.4 GB of data and storage
  • Better:  1 hour of video uses about 0.8 GB of data and storage
  • Good: 1 hour of video uses about 0.5 GB of data and storage

Note: The settings in the Windows 10 app will also tell you how much space you're using up with downloads, and you can delete any that you've completed from the downloads page. As previously stated, the Downloads tab of the mobile app will display these details.
